About
Ilman Mammadov Asdan oglu was born in 1955 in the village of Zirnel, Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He graduated from the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) in 1977 with a degree in geological engineering. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in the field of geology, directly participating in and leading the discovery, exploration, and reserve calculation of dozens of non-ore and building material deposits.
He is also a co-author of 25 geological reports stored in the State Geological Information Archive Fund, a co-author of the monograph "Geology of Azerbaijan" (Volume VI, Mineral Resources), "Mineral Resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" (2009) and "Naxçıvan Muxtar Respublikasının faydalı qazıntıları" (2010). Furthermore, he is the author of the book "Non-metallic Mineral Resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" (2012) and several scientific articles. For his services in the field of geology, he was awarded honorary diplomas from the State Geology Committee and the USSR Ministry of Geology.

He led the exploitation works in mineral deposits on the company's balance sheet, dealt with environmental issues, and was also involved in the inspection and exploration of non-ore deposits in foreign countries (Turkey, Iran, Serbia, Latvia, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and in the Krasnodar, Moscow, Rostov regions of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan and Karachay-Cherkessia republics).

He curated geological exploration works for non-ore mineral resources and building materials conducted by the National Geological Exploration Service in the territory of the Republic.

During this period, dozens of non-ore and building material deposits were discovered in the republic. He completed exploration work at 23 deposits (Tatarly saltpeter, Beylar bentonite, Zeyid, Eastern Zeyid, Yasamal, and Zahardagh quartz sand, etc.), and their reserves were registered in the State balance.

During his tenure at the Nakhchivan Geological Exploration Expedition, dozens of non-ore and building material deposits were discovered. Exploration work was completed at deposits such as Buzgov travertine and Nehram dolomite, and the deposits were prepared for industrial exploitation.
